At ING, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Credit Risk Officer to join our Credit Risk Team Wholesale Banking Spain & Portugal (based in Madrid).
The responsibility of this team is the advice and decision-making of tailored (lending) transactions for our key WB Sector and Lending clients while safeguarding the risk appetite of the bank.
The credit risk managers have a deep understanding of credit structuring, credit risk, and businesses & markets, next to the assessment of related risks like ESG, compliance, and climate risk.
In addition to the asset-by-asset approval process, the Credit Risk Team manages the portfolio on the strategic direction in terms of risk appetite and portfolio steering in sectors and products.
Your key responsibilities: Advise and manage client transactions from origination to closing from a credit risk perspective, in balance with a sound commercial sense. Recommend (to the final approval authority) or decide on credit risk proposals of different sectors and products within ING's risk appetite. Assess the credit quality of customers (internal rating), analyze business models, transaction structures, and review historical financials and business plans. Ensure the quality, policy compliance, and consistency of the credit application prepared by Front Office. Review final documentation to ensure it meets approval conditions. Proactively monitor the portfolio (anticipating and managing risk migration) and ensure ongoing compliance with ING internal policies, regulations, and controls. Participate in local and/or global projects and actively provide input in relevant risk policies and reports. What are we looking for? Professional experience: Over 10 years (equivalent to a senior VP / junior Director in FO) in Corporate Banking / Lending.
Technical Skills: Able to perform sound financial analysis of individual and consolidated accounts on large and mid-sized Corporates under different accounting principles (IAS, IFRS). Sound knowledge of cash flow-based modeling and sensitivity analysis. Knowledge of Corporate Banking products and transaction structures (including term loans, revolving credit facilities, factoring, confirming, performance and financial bonds, letters of credit) as well as acquisition finance structures.
