Due to growth and ongoing delivery success with our clients, Turner & Townsend's Digital Management division in Spain requires a Geographic Information System Specialist to join the team in Madrid. As a Geographic Information System Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining robust enterprise Geodatabases using the ESRI platform, which will be essential for supporting spatial data management and analysis. The role requires a candidate that combines the technical expertise to build the Geodatabases with great communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into plain language terms that can be understood at all levels. Key Responsibilities Requirements gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their spatial data needs and requirements needed to build the client's on-premises and public-facing GeoDatabases. Database design: Design the structure of the GeoDatabase, including feature datasets, feature classes, attribute tables, domains, relationships, and spatial indexes, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity. Data modeling: Develop data models that reflect the client's requirements, processes, and workflows, ensuring that spatial data is organised and stored efficiently. Data migration: Coordinate the auditing and migration of existing spatial data from various sources into the client's enterprise GeoDatabase, ensuring data integrity and consistency. GeoDatabase administration: Configure and administer the client's GeoDatabase, including user access control, versioning, replication, and performance tuning. Metadata management: Establish metadata standards and documentation procedures for the GeoDatabase. Quality assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy and consistency of spatial data. Training and support: Provide training and support to users on how to access, query, and update spatial data. Integration: Integrate the GeoDatabases with other client's enterprise systems and applications. Spatial analysis: Perform spatial analysis tasks using ESRI tools and extensions. Documentation: Document all aspects of the client's enterprise GeoDatabase design, implementation, and maintenance. Continuous improvement: Keep abreast of latest ESRI technologies and best practices. Minimum Requirements Highly proficient in spoken and written English (Level C1 Advanced). 10+ years of hands-on experience working with GIS software, particularly the ESRI suite of products
