You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER (FIRE SAFETY ENGINEER) in FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA Rota, Spain. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional ENGINEER.
Specialized Experience may include: Serve as the fire safety point of contact to provide engineering technical direction and solutions for complex ship industrial fire safety and protection requirements. This includes providing input on engineering issues, non-conformances, departures from specifications, waivers and deviations, and ensuring technical responses are in accordance with all higher-level directives.Conducting independent engineering studies, investigations, research and analysis for the solution of unusual or unprecedented engineering problems.Applying processes, specifications and regulations required for evaluating the material condition of systems/equipment on U.S. Navy ships to determine the need for maintenance, repair, and procedures.Support the achievement of goals and objectives through application of project management principles to make appropriate prioritization and critical decisions.Providing direct technical support of U.S. Navy ships to resolve problems beyond the capability of organizational level & intermediate maintenance activities.
