IntroductionOrbital Paradigm provides agile microgravity and Earth return transportation for the upcoming in-space industry. For this, we're building a highly autonomous software-centric small space return vehicle named Kestrel for high cadence flight opportunities from space back to Earth, with precise arrival for fast payload recovery. Small mass, frequent access, soft and safe flights back from orbit.Your role as Embedded Systems EngineerYou will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of the onboard SW architecture for Kestrel. Your key duties will include:Rapidly design, develop, and test flight software prototypes to meet evolving spacecraft requirements, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment; Integrate software with prototype spacecraft hardware, performing iterative testing and refinement to achieve reliable system performance; Define and develop the overall software architecture, ensuring a scalable, modular, and maintainable structure that supports current and future mission requirements; Design, implement, and test communication protocols for data exchange between spacecraft components, ensuring reliable and efficient transmission in space environments; Optimize software for real-time performance, ensuring timely and accurate execution of flight control algorithms and data handling processes critical for mission success.Required Technical SkillsExperience developing embedded software in any C-family language; Good understanding of SW design and testing lifecycle for space projects; Experience in software architecture definition and requirements definition; Knowledge of real-time operating systems (such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS) and/or operating systems targeted for embedded applications (such as any embedded Linux); Knowledge of any typical embedded communication interfaces such as USART, SPI, I2C; Knowledge of space systems engineering and relevant industry standards; Ability to adapt and apply engineering principles to solve new and unique challenges.Required Soft SkillsTeam spirit, strong collaboration and teamwork capability; Can do attitude; Capability of maintaining a positive contribution to the team under pressure; Willingness to learn and grow professionally; Open to new challenges; Empathy, curiosity, open mindedness; Resilience and adaptability; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Creative thinking and innovation in design solutions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
