Gameplay Programmer We are a small studio, hyper-focused on only one thing; creating a masterpiece. We are exploring a well-known IP and pushing the limits of perfection. We believe that true innovation stems from a balance of experience and the courage to explore the unknown.
The founders and leaders of Bespoke Pixel have extensive experience of shipping world-class entertainment. We are independent and fully funded.
We are currently looking for one or two experienced gameplay programmers to join our studio!
Our project is extremely focused on gameplay, systems, the perfection of features and precise innovation in gameplay loops. We are working with UE5, which is a feature-rich and established engine.
Minimum Requirements Since we are a small team in the startup phase, all employees are expected to wear multiple hats and to handle some ambiguity. We think your profile looks something like this:
Strong proficiency in C++ (Unreal Engine is a bonus). A proven track record of shipping games. Strong communication skills. The ability and desire to articulate improvements in production and development processes. The ability to relate to and empathize with disparate disciplines, and to aid those disciplines in understanding programming issues. A desire to create quality. Desired Requirements As a Gameplay programmer, you will be an important cornerstone in Bespoke Pixel, and you will be expected to share your ideas and make a tangible impact on the project. That is why we want you to have a curious mindset and love to be part of a dynamic team.
We are looking for someone who enjoys refining and perfecting systems and features and who trusts playtests to evaluate progress. We expect you to stay cool, mature, and focused when things get challenging.
At Bespoke Pixel, we work on site in Barcelona, currently 5 days a week. Therefore, living in Barcelona or being willing to relocate is a must.
Duties Some of your tasks:
Experimenting with cutting-edge game design and engaging in rapid prototyping alongside our world-class game designers and artists. Continuously prototype and iterate on features, embracing feedback to enhance the gaming experience. Executing our shared vision with meticulous attention to detail and an emphasis on quality. Profiling and optimizing our game so that players may enjoy it consistently and across multiple platforms and hardware standards. Working across multiple game platforms and across the entire software stack. Becoming a leading subject matter expert in your chosen area of Unreal Engine, educating and aiding others in your team. This role reports directly to the Technical Director.
Benefits We are true believers in our core values (friendliness, professional curiosity, and honesty) and in that spirit we offer a fair and healthy workplace.
As an employee, you will get:
Competitive salary. 5 weeks of paid vacation annually. Flexible work hours. Flexible remuneration. Free private health insurance. (and more...) From our office in central Barcelona, we can offer a great view over the city from the rooftop terrace, but that's not all! On site, you'll also find a café, a gym, a vibrant community, and lots of fun after-work activities.
Bespoke Pixel is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified candidates.
