Descripción: The Computational Cancer Genomics lab investigates condition specific tumor progression mechanisms by analyzing large-scale cancer genomics.
The team is now seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician.
The person will analyze large-scale cancer genomics data sets.
Our ultimate goal is to understand how cancer driver genes could change their mode-of-action depending on cancer state (e.g., primary vs metastasis) for better cancer treatment.
Roles and Responsibilities:Large-scale genomics data analysis depending on cancer state.Developing statistical models to understand cancer driver gene mechanisms.Construction of standard pipelines for analyzing large-scale sequencing data.Criterios de Evaluación:Master's degree or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a relevant field.Experience with large-scale sequencing data is desirable.Technical Skills:Programming in different languages such as R, Python, or others.Familiarity with cluster compute environments (supercomputing systems) and/or workflow management systems.Experience in large-scale next-generation sequencing data analysis (e.g., BAM files alignment, mutation calling).Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work in a team, excellent attention to detail, and the desire to learn and improve.The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, both speaking and in writing, in English.Applications must include a detailed CV in English.Have Spanish nationality or be citizens of the European Union, or be a foreigner holding an authorization to reside in Spanish territory that allows them to work.Be registered in any town in Spain.Age must be between 16 and 30 (16 Unemployed for at least 1 day at the time of application (officially registered with the public employment services).Not be involved in educational activities (higher education, vocational school, etc.)
