OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE OF THE COMPANY
Our client, an international group in the steel and mining domains, is looking for a Research Engineer in Operations Research and Mathematical Modelling.
You will be part of the team devoted to Business & Techno-economics, working on the development of mathematical models and algorithms to support the optimization and facilitate the decision making of the business unit related to supply chain.
The team (27 people) is located in Asturias.
MISSIONS
As a research engineer, you will work on the development of mathematical models and algorithms for strategical, tactical and operational decisions.
You will be involved in the following activities:
Performing audits in the group plants in order to analyse the current situation and to define the requirements of the solution you will develop.Developing the necessary mathematical models and algorithms to achieve the best optimization solution.Presenting the results to the different stakeholders of the projects and the benefits of the solution to the users.Supporting the production launch of the developed model.REQUIRED PROFILE ACADEMIC SPHERE
A PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Computer Science with at least 3 years - ideally 5 years - of experience in operational research and mathematical modelling.
TECHNICAL SPHERE
- Expertise in operational research and mathematical modelling using evolutionary computation, metaheuristics and operations research techniques.
- Proficiency in Python and AMPL.
Knowledge in C# is a plus.
- English proficiency, Spanish elementary or at least willing to learn.
SOCIAL SPHERE
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to communicate with the different stakeholders of the projects.
- Results oriented.
- Initiative, adaptability.
SATELLITE INFORMATIONS
- Takeoff date: ASAP.
- Rocket launch site: Avilés - Spain.
- Business trips: around 30% of the working time - international.
- Salary: Depending on the profile.
