Offer Description
Grant/funding reference: ED431F 2024/28
Job title: Transition Metal Complexes for Noninvasive Detection and Monitoring of Osteoarthritis
Research line / Scientific-technical services: Contrast Agents
a) Tasks to be performedThe tasks to be performed by the beneficiary of this contract will be to support research on chelating systems with potential application in the development of new contrast agents for MRI.
Specifically, the person hired will collaborate in the synthesis and structural characterization of the systems, as well as in the performance of thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness studies in water, serum and blood plasma.
It will also assist in cell viability and cell recognition studies.
b) Duration of the contractThe contract is indefinite, but the project tasks are estimated in 36 months.
Stage 1 (9 months): Assistance in the synthesis and characterization of the systems by means of the usual characterization techniques (electronic absorption and emission spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, MS spectrometry, cyclic voltammetry).
Participation in preliminary studies of thermodynamic stability in aqueous medium, serum and plasma.
Chemical inertness tests against acid and/or redox hydrolysis, in the presence and absence of enzymatic catalysts, monitored by spectroscopic techniques and/or HPLC/MS monitoring.Stage 2 (12 months): Assistance in preliminary cell recognition, proliferation, viability assays, and cytotoxicity.Stage 3 (6 months): Assistance in the elaboration of interpretation reports of results.RequirementsResearch Field: Chemistry
Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Skills/QualificationsBachelor's degree, engineering, architecture, degree, diploma, technical architecture or technical engineering.Degree in Chemistry or equivalent qualifications.Master's degree in Experimental Sciences or equivalent training.Training in spectrophotometric techniques, bibliographic search and communication of results.Experience in physicochemical and structural characterization by HPLC and advanced spectroscopic techniques.Eligibility criteriaWhen evaluating the candidates, the following selection scale will be used:
Academic record of the advanced degree in Chemistry or equivalent (up to 20 points): grade: 5.0 - 6.4 (5 points), 6.5 - 7.9 (10 points), 8.0 - 10 (20 points).
