Based in our plant in Santa Margarida i Els Monjos (Barcelona), as a part of the Laboratory Team and directly reporting to the Laboratory Manager of Affinity, we are looking for a new position as Instrumentalist & Laboratory Technician. We offer to be part of the Laboratory team made of 6 analysts and collaborate with the other departments (Plant Quality, Accounting and Database, Exports, Production and R&D). By joining our team as an Instrumentalist & Laboratory Technician, you will contribute to maintaining high standards in our lab operations, ensuring that we continue to deliver top-quality results for our pet food products. Your work will support the efficiency and innovation of our laboratory, helping us to improve continuously and make a difference in the lives of pets and pet lovers.What you will do:Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment, including HPLC, gas chromatography, ICP, and microwave systems. Ensure the proper functionality and optimal performance of all analytical instruments. Manage equipment repairs and coordinate with external services when necessary.Method Validation and Development: Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods to enhance lab performance and ensure accurate results. Conduct uncertainty calculations and ensure the accuracy and reliability of all analytical processes.Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Perform statistical analysis of laboratory results, generating comprehensive reports and providing insights for process improvements. Collaborate with other departments, including Production and R&D, to communicate findings and support continuous improvement projects.Team Collaboration and Support: Assist laboratory analysts in the proper use of equipment and methods. Ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory by addressing any technical issues with equipment promptly. Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in analytical instrumentation. Introduce new equipment and methods to optimize laboratory workflows and support ongoing improvements.What we are looking for:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, preferably with a Master's degree in Statistics, Instrumental Analysis, or Continuous Improvement.A minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or food industry.Proven expertise in laboratory equipment maintenance (HPLC, gas chromatography, ICP, etc.).Strong analytical skills, with experience in statistical analysis and method validation.Fluent English is a must.#J-18808-Ljbffr
