The company combines local markets expertise with payment technology enabling global merchants to successfully expand their business into high growth, emerging markets while eliminating the many operational complexities of managing cross-border payments.The Head of Legal is the head of the corporate legal department and is responsible for the legal affairs of the corporation. This role includes providing legal counsel to the C-level, chairman of the board,chief executive officer and other senior management ensuring the on-going adherence of the company with all applicable requirements.The position ensures the C-level, management and employees follow the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behaviour in the organization meets the company's standards of conduct (the "**Standards of Conduct**").**Job duties and Responsibilities**:- Co-ordinating and managing projects entrusted to the Legal Department.- Developing and maintaining the portfolio of gaming licenses held by the Company.- Handling the Company's litigation matters.Ensuring that the Company, management and employees are in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, that Company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets the Company's standards of conduct.- Ensuring that the Company keeps abreast of developments from a regulatory, legal and compliance perspective on a local and international level.- Assisting in the identification and mitigation of risks to which the Company may be exposed.- Develops and periodically reviews and updates the Standards of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.- Collaborates with other departments (e.G., Financial Department, Risk Management, Internal Audit, etc.) to direct legal issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.- Consults with the Corporate attorney, as needed, to resolve difficult legal issues.- Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that legal Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.- Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates legal activities of other departments.- Develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.**Experience and Qualifications**:- Great people skills and can communicate and cooperate up, down, and across the employee chain and must simultaneously have a firm grasp of the business.- Ethical and principled.- Proactive and Diligent.- A strong constitution and extra conviction: Solid backbone and the strength to stand by difficult decisions and be more influenced by right versus wrong than by relationships.- Willing to take the lead in setting the tone for corporate integrity.- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.- Strong project management and planning skills to successfully manage multiple,simultaneous projects.
