JOIN THE TEAM We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with a wide range of skills and knowledge to effectively develop and maintain both the front-end and back-end components of enterprise-grade IT solutions for BASF Agricultural.
RESPONSIBILITIES High-level objectives are as follows:
Proficiency in multiple technologies End-to-end development Front-end development Back-end development Database management Testing and debugging Deployment and DevOps Problem Solving User-Centric Focus DETAILED TASKS Mobile Strategy Developer for both iOS and Android apps for agricultural solutions (internal and external users) Develop different apps for different users with different use cases, with 20 apps live in more than 30 countries Develop novel user interfaces and analytics modules for biochemistry researchers to generate, manipulate, and visualize their data Identify, extract, transform, load, integrate, and display data from multiple internal and external data sources Collaborate with internal and external IT partners, maintaining frequent communication with users to understand their needs and develop frequently tested solutions Estimate development efforts in both time and required human capacity, supporting product owners on data science-related efforts (e.g., concepts, scalability, risk-management) Participate in and contribute to the global agricultural solutions, data science, and research & development communities at BASF QUALIFICATIONS Degree or equivalent experience in software engineering, data sciences, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, natural science, or a related field of study, with several years of working experience on complex data sets in an agile manner Complete Mobile App Developer, with experience in all phases of development including design, testing, and troubleshooting Hands-on experience with back-end work such as Java and Kotlin Experience with RESTful APIs (especially Fast API) Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and data-centric governance (Spotify as a clear example); ETL processes are an advantage but not a must Excellent communication in English; language skills in German are a plus Team player with innovative drive, analytical thinking, and a fascination for data BENEFITS Responsibility from day one in a challenging work environment and "on-the-job" training as part of a committed team Adequate compensation according to your qualifications and experience A secure work environment, as your health, safety, and well-being are our top priority Flexible work schedule and home-office options to balance your working and private life Learning and development opportunities 23 holidays per year, plus 5 readjustment days and 2 cultural days A collaborative, trustful, and innovative work environment Being part of an international team and working on global projects Relocation assistance to Madrid provided At BASF, the chemistry is right.
