Role Overview Mondly by Pearson is seeking an experienced and result-driven Engineering Manager with a strong technical background in Frontend Web development to lead our Frontend team. This role is pivotal to our mission of creating cutting-edge educational web applications and experiences that drive learner success.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead a team of Frontend engineers by example, setting high standards for code quality, performance, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest Frontend development trends, tools, and technologies. Team Management: Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the Frontend engineering team. Mentor and coach team members, helping them grow in their careers and achieve their goals. Provide direction, guidance, and training to the team; manage the onboarding plan of new employees and ensure consistency around practices, tools, and technologies used inside the team. Product Development: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and execute the Frontend product roadmap. Ensure that the team delivers high-quality software on time. Architecture and Design: Drive the design and architecture of Frontend applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives. Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews and implement best practices for code quality and test coverage. Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and automated testing. Innovation: Stay at the forefront of Frontend development, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and methodologies to improve our products and processes. Recruitment: Collaborate with HR and talent acquisition teams to identify, hire, and onboard top-tier Frontend engineering talent. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering leaders from other teams (iOS, backend, frontend, etc.) to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technical solutions.
