All action.We're looking for a Frontend Engineering Manager who will lead our team of talented engineers, ensuring our storefront remains stable, fast, and adaptable as we grow.About the RoleAs a Frontend Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for the health, stability, and performance of Vitals' storefront code that runs on over 30,000 Shopify stores worldwide. You will lead a team of smart and motivated engineers, while also tackling the challenge of gradually reducing legacy and enhancing our frontend tech stack.This is a critical role where you will drive the frontend strategy, development, and operational excellence for our products, enabling our customers to provide the best shopping experience to their users.What You'll DoOwn the storefront's stability and uptime: Vitals runs on thousands of stores, and any issue can potentially affect our merchants' ability to sell. You'll establish a solid testing strategy to ensure releases are smooth and incidents are minimized.Lead a team of 15+ engineers: Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high performance while developing your team members professionally.Reduce tech debt and modernize our stack: Identify and prioritize areas for improvement in our legacy codebase. Gradually introduce modern frameworks and technologies to keep our frontend stack up-to-date and flexible.Mentor and guide your team: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure best practices for frontend development.Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver a cohesive, high-quality product experience for our users.What We're Looking For7+ years of frontend development experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.Proven expertise in React/Preact, TypeScript, and modern frontend architectures.Experience with large-scale web applications and a strong focus on performance and stability.Ability to reduce tech debt and improve legacy systems while ensuring the stack remains flexible and scalable.Strong experience with automated testing and an emphasis on quality assurance.A people-first approach to leadership, with strong communication skills and a passion for developing engineers.A problem-solving mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
