Your day to day
As Hotel Manager you will keep our hotel running smoothly and ensure our guests are safe, comfortable, and satisfied. You will maximise financial returns, drive development of people, create and maintain a unique guest experience, execute brand standards, and build awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community. As a brand ambassador, you will become a role model, and your goal will be to sustain our InterContinental Life. Finally, you will act as the General Manager in their absence.
Guest experience
Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Respond to guest complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIPs, large groups, and other key guests.
Lead marketing efforts to upsell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.
People
Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching & feedback and create development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance.
Train colleagues to ensure they deliver quality service with compliance and have the tools they need to work efficiently.
Recommend or initiate any HR-related actions where needed.
Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive - connect departments to create a sense of one team through daily communication.
Assist the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
Lead and support different CSR initiatives held by the hotel.
Financial
Help the General Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel.
Assist in the preparation of the hotel's annual budget.
Provide regular direction and manage hotel operations for all departments.
Monitor and report variances against budget and control labour costs and other expenses.
Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty.
Responsible Business
Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and hotel assets in compliance with the hotel's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain relations with outside contacts.
Comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services.
Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a green hotel.
Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed.
Accountability
This is the top operations job in the hotel as it oversees FO, Concierge, FB, Spa, Maintenance, IT, and HK.
What we need from you
Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
10+ years of operational experience, 3+ years in a multi-unit leader role.
A strong background in operating hotels across competitive markets.
Senior multi-unit and cross-country exposure.
An outstanding leadership style that engages the team.
A passion for delivering superior results.
A commitment to transferring knowledge.
Strong leadership skills in managing a senior team to drive for results.
An ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
