Job Opportunity: FPGA Engineer at Safran in Granada, Spain Our Technology: Safran is a global leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions, offering robust, high-performance products for critical applications in GPS/GNSS-denied environments.
We specialize in fail-safe GNSS/PNT solutions for military/commercial use, ultra-precise synchronization (sub-ns), and frequency distribution via White Rabbit PTP.
Our expertise extends to Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), collaborating with ESA on aerospace projects to ensure deterministic, zero-loss communications.
At our core, we guarantee high accuracy and robust timing in all our solutions.
The Position: Join our Technology Exploration Unit in Granada, Spain, as an integral part of our R&D team.
Focus on telecommunications and deterministic networking.
Responsibilities: Develop innovative projects, planning features, and ensuring adherence to specifications.
Identify and implement improvements in product performance, efficiency, and design.
Utilize problem-solving skills to maintain high quality under constraints.
Engage with cutting-edge Resilient PNT and deterministic technologies.
Communicate effectively with project partners and managers.
Manage project budgets, personnel efforts, and comprehensive work plans.
Produce deliverables, participate in communication activities, workshops, and events.
Develop key firmware and FPGA elements for TSN networking, including design validation, test benches, simulations, and evaluation strategies.
Your Qualifications: Master's in Telecommunications, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related.
Excellent English proficiency (advanced Cambridge certificate or similar).
Knowledge in software engineering, embedded Linux, and Linux kernel drivers.
Passionate and motivated for industrial R&D projects.
Teamwork, organization, autonomous work, and project management skills.
Experience with Xilinx FPGA tools (Vivado, Vitis, HLS), embedded software development, FPGA logic design (VHDL/Verilog).
Familiarity with Ethernet networking, data interfaces, and Xilinx architecture/platforms.
Knowledge of timing, synchronization, frequency dissemination, and embedded Linux tools.
