We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Worldwide Food Safety and Compliance team as a Private Brands Food Safety and Technical Manager.
This position will focus on managing all technical aspects relating to the launch of new own label food products for Amazon own label products, ensuring they exceed customer expectations. The role will be involved in all stages from new product concept through to the launch of the product and post-launch product quality.
The individual will bring experience and knowledge of a number of food categories, including produce, to the team and support private label decisions. This role requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in food retailing and manufacture. The individual will work directly with suppliers and internal cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate successful product launches.
The individual must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills, a high bar for quality, strong customer obsession, and a track record of operating in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, and be motivated by a fast-paced start-up environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Work with the wider team to ensure product selection is appropriate and will meet or exceed customer expectations
- Support stakeholders in supplier selection decisions and sourcing strategy to develop an optimized supply base
- Work with manufacturing partners to develop products, product processes, and associated technical documentation
- Attend pre-production / first production runs ensuring product and process match that defined in the specification
- Continuously identify and communicate improvement opportunities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
