THE ROLE TheFood Runnerreports to the Food and Beverage Manager.Food Runner responsibilities include but not limited to bringing food to our customer on a timely matter. They will also be in charge of cleaning the table and making sure guests needs are meet. This position will interact with everyone in the hotel so you must have strong and adaptable interpersonal skills, meaning you can get along with anyone. Another key need for this role is their ability to organize and be strategic when food items are being brought to the customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Clean, set and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for station, tables and side dutiesComplete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standardPresent menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the dayUtilize the hotel's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readingsCarry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silverAscertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolvedRecognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guestsStock linen, china, silver and glassware for serviceKeep accurate control of guest checks, credit vouchers, currency and posting proceduresRecord all guest charges, gratuities and cash transactions accuratelySet up orders on trays and tables and transport them to guest floors and rooms.Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Must have a high school education or equivalent experienceFluency in English both verbally and non-verballyMinimum of1 years of food and beverage experienceAble to work alone without direct supervisionDemonstrate high degree of drive and determinationConstantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operationDue to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotelAbility to roll and/or carry tables and chairsAbility to lift over 35lbs when carrying food trays to the customersStanding and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time WHO WE ARE Hotels done differently.
