Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, the Sr. Engineering Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the Engineering, Maintenance, and Calibration department at the medical device manufacturing site. The primary role of this position is to ensure the successful execution of engineering activities on-site, ensuring compliance, performance, and alignment with business objectives. Additionally, the Sr. Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with other site leaders to ensure the implementation of the Site Master Plan and oversee the project portfolio of the site.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and direct overall engineering activities.Lead and manage the Innovation, Engineering, Maintenance, and Calibration department, providing direction, guidance, and support to the team members.Establish and maintain engineering standards and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in all engineering activities.Ensure scientific and technologically based continuous improvement for the business unit, including ongoing support to quality systems, supplier qualifications, and productivity improvements.Coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and work to reduce physical hazards in the facility.Represent the Site as the Engineering Leader in Medical Device and Diagnostics (MD&D) Technology forums and strategic discussions.Manage resources in the design, evaluation, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, processes, methods, equipment, and systems.Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies. Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills: A minimum of 8 years of related business experience is required. Experience with people management/leadership is required. Knowledge of key regulations and standards such as QSR, Medical Device Directory, Canadian Medical Device Regulations, ISO, and 21CFR820 is preferred.
