IRB Barcelona forms part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the "Xarxa de Centres de Recerca de Catalunya" (CERCA).Your Role & Our TeamIRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated Flow Cytometry Technician to support the operations of newly acquired instruments (BD FACSymphony A5 SE and BD FACSymphony S6), in close collaboration with the Flow Cytometry Unit at CCiTUB.
We are looking for a highly-motivated individual, eager to learn and grow within the role, with personal competences to work in a service-based environment, with good inter-personal skills and high degree of initiative.Key responsibilities:Operate the new cell sorter and analyzer to meet the needs of users; Provide supportand technical advice on flow cytometry, experimental design, panel design, protocol optimization and execution to researchers; Provide supportin flow cytometry software and data analysis; Provide comprehensive training in flow cytometry basic concepts, data analysis and use of flow cytometry analyzers to research personnel; Manage and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of cytometers and cell sorters under their responsibility; Perform qualitycontrol and quality assurance procedures; Monitor equipment usage through periodic reports to evaluate resource optimization and identify new needs; Management of reports and data backups; General lab organization and administrative tasks; EXPERIENCE,KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:Must Have – Required:A degree in chemistry, immunology, biology or related fieldsKnowledge of common flow cytometry software (FACSDiva, FlowJo)Proficiency in Spanish and EnglishCapacity to work both independently and as part of a teamExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTroubleshooting capacity and attention to detailCustom orientedDesirable:Previous experience in a flow cytometry platform: operation of flow cytometers, cell sorters, multicolor panel design, and cell sortingPrevious research lab experienceComputer skillsWORKING CONDITIONS & ENTITLEMENTS:To be a part of something meaningful: We are a biomedical research center that tirelessly works to achieve a society free of diseases
