Building Engineering Services team is a highly qualified group of experts in offering the best solutions to international client's needs all around the world. Being part of Building & Services area in Spain, this team is at the forefront of the discipline to design the mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) systems required for a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly operation of buildings. We embrace world-class methodologies and technologies, including information-rich Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to facilitate more efficient ways of working and design at all stages of the project life-cycle.
As part of the continued growth of our team, we are looking to hire a Fire Protection & Risk Assessment Discipline Lead to be responsible for overseeing, guiding and developing a team of ten engineers. The role will be well suited to an established Senior consultant with demonstrable leadership skills who is looking to take the next step or someone with a desire to work in multi-disciplinary design consultancy and wants to join a well-respected and established fire safety consultancy. This position is based in our office in Madrid (Hybrid Remote Model), really well located in the city center.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regularly communicating with them to understand their needs and expectations.Coordinating with multiple disciplines and cross-functional teams, acting as lead fire engineer to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule while managing the Fire discipline (Tunnel ventilation systems, PCI, risk analysis).Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed.Preparation of fire protection expert opinions, reports, statements and concepts.Review and, if necessary, preparation of associated fire protection, escape and rescue plans.Develop detailed specifications and writing reports/documentation for internal and external purposes.Ensures discipline plans that are created to meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule.Fire protection construction supervision.Leads technical business development work.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus ten (10) years of relevant experience in mechanical design and/or engineering, with a focus on fire protection and/or fire & life safety engineering experience.
Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
Track record in Fire Protection and/or Fire & Life Safety engineering design and consulting on medium to large scale projects acting as Project Lead.
Exposure to international regulations and standards (NFPA, BS, Country and regional fire codes, etc).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with HVAC, piping, mechanical and other related disciplines within MEP.
Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
Good knowledge of design software related to Fire discipline.
