Planate supports the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.The Fire Protection Inspector is a full-time role that will assist the Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) by providing design plans and overseeing all facets of fire protection engineering operations. Our salary range for this position varies depending on experience and qualifications.This position will be based in Subic, Zambales.Duties and Responsibilities:Work under the direction of Managers (Design and Project) on tasks related to Fire Protection Engineering, including fire protection requirements, equipment, hazards, firefighting, and fire detection and alarm systems (FDAS).Recommend changes to SFPE procedures and drawings/design documents. Gather and correlate basic engineering data using well-defined engineering procedures, including routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.Apply sound engineering principles to provide technically correct, timely, and cost-effective recommendations.Perform standard fire protection design tasks such as sprinkler design and criteria specification, preliminary hydraulic calculations, fire pump selection, and fire detection and alarm system layout.Review A/E drawings for conformance with model and local codes, as well as NFPA standards.Research models and local codes, as well as nationally recognized standards to assist in the development of alternate methods of code compliance.Develop reports, letters, and memos with the assistance of other engineers.Perform hazardous materials assessments in different facilities per requirements.Continually expand and improve technical and business skills set under own initiative with instruction, guidance, and direction from others.Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Qualifications to be successful in the role:Degree in any related course.A licensed fire protection engineer or certified fire protection inspector is required.At least five years of related fire inspection experience.Knowledgeable with local and international regulatory requirements and industry standards particular to fire protection, fire safety, and fire detection and alarm systems.Knowledgeable of current local and international codes and standards pertaining to fire protection, fire safety, fire detection, and alarm systems (e.G., UFC, IBC, NFPA, and BS standards).Ability to respond quickly to fire protection technical inquiries/issues on short notice.Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines under the guidance of a project/design manager or directly with the client
