Financial Controller - Temporal

Temporary role to cover maternity leave from August 2024 to March 2025.Reporting to the Regional Finance Controller, you will ensure quality financial information is delivered to internal and external stakeholders and coordinate key finance processes for the European Region. This role is based in Barcelona on a hybrid basis, with occasional travel to Manchester, UK.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Europe Regional Finance Controller, based in Manchester, UK you will:

• Lead the Spain Statutory Audit and manage local mandatory filings (e.g., VAT/TAX).
• Act as the subject matter expert on Spanish regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Support the preparation of annual Budget and quarterly Group forecasting processes with the Regional Finance Controller.
• Lead monthly profit and loss and balance sheet statements for Europe Region.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure financial reporting consolidation.
• Support financial and internal controls.
• Provide monthly and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Review and manage cashflow, credit management, and debt collection.
Your Qualifications & Experience
Required

• Managing external audit & Financial Annual Accounts filling
• IFRS and Spanish GAAP expertise
• Fluent in English and Spanish native
• Understanding and experience of running a Spanish legal entity – e.g additional capital investment during the maternity period
• Experience in Budgeting, Forecasting and Cash Flow /Working Capital
• Ability to prioritise and manage upwards (escalate issue quickly to me)

• Some travel (to the UK will be required)
