Awarded for its outstanding service and facilities, the hotel features 18th Century Louis XV and Georgian antiques, and houses one of Australia's largest private collections of fine art. The hotel itself partly resides in a building dating back to the late 1800's that is listed with the National Heritage Register.The hotel offers 105 generously sized, luxuriously appointed guest rooms including 15 suites, a restaurant, a bar and 4 function rooms.We are currently seeking a talented, experienced and dedicated Financial Controller for a 1 Year fixed term contract.The successful application will be in charge of the day-to-day functions of the Finance team to ensure all financial plans (forecasting & budgeting) and internal controls plans are upheld as per P&P of Stamford Hotels and Resorts.FinancialYour responsibilities will include:Review financial reports and supporting schedules prepared by the respective AccountantEnsure timely reporting to HQPrepare monthly forecasts as well as ad-hoc forecasts and projectionsManage cash flow of the hotel including timely remittance of excess fundsEnsure that the profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment of effective budgetary controls and expenditure proceduresAnalyze financial statements to summarize current and projected company financial positionReview reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriatePerform accurate and timely variance analysis for comparison with budget and monitor actual results against budget commitmentsProvide financial project support with accurate costing and profit projectionsAssist, where required, other departmental managers in improving profitabilityMonitor and interpret financial performance, make recommendations and develop insights to enhance business performance of the HotelManage all phases of Accounts Payable, Receivable, purchasing and department budgetMonitor and contain all property inventories to ensure proper levels without causing burdens on property cash flowsPrepare annual budget, review budget proposals from other departmentsEnsure budget is maintained within the approved budgetReview performance against budget and provide recommendations on corrective actionsPerform financial feasibility of business initiatives, projects, contracts and assess their ROI
