Comet Capital seeks a Finance Director for its fast-growing Spanish residential development companies.
This is a demanding role to financially manage the Spanish arm of the UK Group with interests in property development, property investment, and hospitality.
The Spanish business: Through a Spanish investment vehicle, we have a portfolio of land assets across the Costa del Sol; stretching from Tarifa to Malaga.
The current land bank is circa 10 years.
The small finance team is based in Mijas but one of the first tasks will be to relocate to a more modern facility along the coast.
The Role: Involves working with the senior leadership team to develop the land bank, minimising risk, managing the finance team to drive efficiency, improve reporting, ensure tight cost control and being a contributing part of the team raising standard R.E.
development funding.
An understanding and experience of Real Estate is required.
Role includes but is not limited to: Lead and inspire the finance team to provide relevant high-quality financial reporting and maintain strong collaborative relationships across the business.
Work closely with the company MD to ensure the financial responsibilities and reporting of the company to the holding company are met.
Enhance internal controls, processes and procedures for monitoring the financial progress of each development or investment.
Prepare accurate cash funding requests to the Comet Board and manage cash flows.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports at project and company level.
Manage and control year-end audit.
Liaising with specialised advisors and optimise tax planning.
Committed to being hands-on and doing whatever is required to achieve the above.
You will be: A fully qualified accountant (all senior qualifications considered including ACA, ACCA or national equivalents).
Bilingual in Spanish & English.
Driven by attention to detail and getting 100% accuracy.
