ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE As a Field Technician on the Ample team, you will help solve complex challenges involving electric vehicles, robotics, and smart battery technology. The Ample team is small, passionate, highly capable, and eager to have like-minded individuals join. If the technology doesn't exist, we're not afraid to envision a path to success and then build it, while always keeping in mind it must be designed for reliability, affordability, and easy deployment.
Field Technicians work independently as well as in close collaboration with other Ample team members to maintain, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies in the field. You will focus on keeping the Ample network of swapping stations in excellent operating condition, involving travel to station sites within a 50Km radius of the HQ.
Ample delivers energy 7 days a week. The Operations team is specifically looking for members willing to work on rotating shifts, according to customer demand.
RESPONSIBILITIES Perform regular preventative maintenance on Ample swapping stations, ensuring they are always in excellent working condition. Respond urgently to electro-mechanical issues at stations requiring onsite assistance, only leaving once the station is running smoothly again. Resolve electrical and mechanical problems by diagnosing issues and fixing or replacing parts and systems as determined to be needed. Diligently document troubleshooting and repairs undertaken to enable robust Engineering root cause analysis after the fact. Read and interpret written documentation, engineering schematics, circuit diagrams, etc. for the purpose of product maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. Collect data, capturing any electro-mechanical issues during regular field inspections, and then collaborate with the engineering team to optimize mechanical part designs for easier deployment, servicing, and debugging. Work with teams in different countries. REQUIREMENTS 2+ years experience in electro-mechanical service / maintenance; construction experience a plus. Track record of working with and around power & diagnostic tools, with a focus on safety. Capable of completing tasks, with urgency, in an environment with minimal instruction and supervision. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed technical instructions and procedures. Must be a reliable self-starter, committed to delivering a quality product.
