.Field Operations and Safety ManagerDiversified Transportation is currently looking for a full-time Field Operations and Safety Manager (FOSM) based in our Fort McMurray Town Operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Account Manager, the FOSM will be responsible for supervising a team of drivers who are dedicated to Diversified Transportation's client. Relationship management will be a key success factor as you deal with day-to-day issues with our key clients and operators and embody the values of operational excellence and team leadership. Regular interaction with Union representatives should be expected as well as involvement in any grievance, performance and disciplinary issues that may arise, including thorough incident investigations. FOSMs may also be involved in safety and environmental incident management, spill remediation, traffic control, orienting new drivers, and other operational and safety initiatives at the request of the Account Manager or Director of Operations. Applicants must be local to Fort McMurray.Primary Responsibilities:Support and promote Diversified Core Values, policies and procedures.Effectively communicate with customers; operations, maintenance, and administrative staff; training and the union in order to most adequately fulfill the role.Monitor service levels to ensure that performance statistics meet our customers' operational requirements, developing contingency plans to accommodate their needs while remaining within the budgeted workload.Lead organizational efforts to optimize the efficiency of the operation, including opportunities for process optimization, selecting/developing required additions.Support the attraction and retention of qualified drivers.Perform various analyses of the division's activities to ensure the division meets its financial and operational objectives, including KPI trends and root causes.Take personal accountability for knowing and communicating the following corporate KPIs: preventable collisions, non-preventable collisions, driver violations, employee turnover rate, mechanical failure/on-road breakdowns, WCB incidents, WCB lost days, customer complaints, near miss observations, preventable collisions per million miles.Manage the day-to-day activities of drivers to ensure they meet both DTL's standards as well as customer requirements, such as safe driving standards and on-time performance.Act as a resource, guide or support on operational or HSE matters, conduct risk assessments and thorough incident investigations, recommend corrective actions, manage performance, discipline, maintain all necessary documentation in a manner that is compliant with DTL policies and best practices.Manage operational and HSE incidents on site, including site remediation, contacting appropriate parties, gathering statements and traffic control.Ensure proper equipment utilization and that units are available for scheduled maintenance
