Job Purpose: Flight Operations Engineer in charge of support to flight operations computations and studies. Main areas of expertise include aircraft performance, weight and balance, operation technical manuals, and especially new route feasibility studies & flight planning support.
Main Accountabilities:
Performing studies on the entire network operated by the company to ensure that any modification affecting airport characteristics, procedures, or navaids are accurately updated in the documentation loaded into the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) and the aircraft's navigation database.
Continuous alignment and collaboration with dispatchers and technical pilots to assess the specificities of airports and routes and provide operational support.
Ongoing cross-checking with the company's quality and safety specialists to ensure that deliverables are safe and reliable within approved processes.
Participate in one of the multiple transformation projects managed by the department, contributing positively to the company's objectives, such as improving operational safety, increasing sustainability, and reducing the workload of crews.
Resolving complex engineering problems and contacting suppliers.
Correcting any unforeseen technical events in the flight procedure, constantly verifying with the manufacturer or involved supplier the effectiveness of the correction, and properly monitoring the steps of change management (risk analysis, design defense before Quality and Safety, approval, etc.) to ensure it is perfectly implemented.
Being the person who defends internal and external audits with AESA and IOSA for the defense of all procedures approved and implemented in the area of competence and flight.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks:
Calculates aircraft weight and balance information according to the company's flight operations guidelines established by the Standards Manager.
Collaborates in aircraft performance computation, runway data, airport characteristics and contingency procedures, and/or weight and balance computation.
Updates aircraft operation technical Manuals (WBM, FCOM, AFM, QRH and MEL) and associated documents (AD, OEB; OIT, FOT, etc.).
Provides support for the tasks related with the EFB that are developed in the Technical Office.
Education: Aeronautical Engineering Degree (required)
Experience: 3 years in a similar role.
