1. Hold a BSc/MSc in Social Anthropology, Sociology or Equivalent and fulfil the requirements to be admitted into the Societat i Cultura: Història, Antropologia, Art i Patrimoni PhD program at the Universitat de Barcelona.
2. Experience in ethnographic research methods, ideally with embodied and reflexive components.
3. Interest and experience in social science aspects of some of the following: migration, mobility and post-migrancy; transnationalism; racialization and racism, including anti-Roma racism; discrimination, exclusion and hierarchy; borders and bordering; bodies and embodiment; health and healthcare; social inequity; capitalism; infrastructure; supply chains and circulation; food systems; ethno/nationalism; labor and social reproduction.
4. Evidence of ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as evidence of ability to help collaboratively lead aspects of joint processes of a team.
5. Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills including written and oral presentation skills, including in English.
6. Top-level written and verbal command of academic English.
7. Knowledge of and interest in social theoretical, ethnographic and social science literatures relevant to migration and its relation to Austria and Romania.
8. Interest in and some degree of knowledge of innovative and collaborative approaches to research and dissemination methodologies and techniques.
Qualifications (IT/Academic/Vocational)
9. An undergraduate degree in social sciences or related subject.
10. An outstanding Master's Degree in Anthropology, Sociology or a related discipline.
Experience
11. Previous experience in research on Romanian migrant labour in greenhouses in Austria is preferred.
12. List of publications is an advantage.
