For a HNW Dutch family, we are looking for an experienced Spanish/English-speaking PERMANENT Family Assistant (All-rounder/Cook) to oversee their stunning property near Eivissa (10 min drive) in Ibiza. Simple family cooking skills are essential and drivers only. Dutch language skills are an advantage.The family of four recently moved from Holland to live in Ibiza fulltime. They previously visited the island over many years. They own and live in a beautiful 600m² (6500 sq. ft/10 rooms) ground floor apartment with a large pool and own two other apartments within the building which are used as His and Hers Offices. There are two other parties that occupy the building. Currently, the apartments still have work carried out, which is supervised by the interior designer. The interior is very modern, high-end, and beautiful with a sound system throughout.The two children (G 7, B11) go to the local private school, which teaches in English. The boy has Asperger syndrome, and the girl is very active. Their mother oversees their play activities and homework.The cleaning is currently provided by a local company who services the apartments once a week.The current Family Assistant is leaving at the beginning of Jan '24 after 13 years with the family to work on yachts for the extended family of the Owners. A handover is anticipated.One of the parents usually travels for one week of a month. For some of the school holidays, the entire family travels.The family usually comes together around 7.30 pm for dinner and is happy to warm up the cooked food for themselves. There are no allergies or dietary requirements. For breakfast, they help themselves, and lunch is usually a snack or a home-cooked soup which they love. If there are special events, the family hires a Chef.The role reports directly to the Principals. The family is easy-going/informal. There is one 10-year-old Labrador.Duties of the Family Assistant (All-rounder/Cook):Managing the smooth running of the property to high standardsOverseeing contractors, suppliers, and contract cleaners (including training)Setting up a structure around the family (scheduling workmen)Creating a directory of contacts (some of which already exists)Reporting any issues/obtaining quotesChecking the school children's bags are packed and providing healthy snacksOccasionally driving children to school and picking them upEnsuring the property is kept child-safeShopping online for food (which is delivered)Storing shopping and household provisioningPlanning and cooking simple family meals (the current Family Assistant will advise on favorites etc.)Organizing small family events (max 15 people which is exceptional)Taking care of the laundry (which could be taken externally)Ensuring the two cars (Mercedes/VW) are clean and fueledPet care and walking the dog twice a day if neededRequirements:A minimum of 4 years' experience caring for a private family homeMust be legal to work in the EUFluency in English and Spanish (knowledge of Dutch is an advantage)Good family cooking skillsExcellent organizational skills and knowledge of setting up a householdMust be familiar with Mediterranean climate/work culture and ideally have local knowledgeExcellent communication skillsA recent security checkReferences from past familiesThe Family Assistant is a hands-on role that involves overseeing the property and contractors as well as stocking cupboards, cooking, or having cars cleaned, etc. It is very versatile and requires someone to be highly organized, focused, and keen to deliver a smooth service to the family and able to organize a structure accordingly. Candidates should be family-oriented, used to dealing with children, and ideally have knowledge of neuro-divergent behavior. The family is looking for someone discreet, reliable, responsible, and flexible with a positive outlook, able to support the family.For the initial trial with the family, an en-suite room is offered within the property (depending on the availability of the candidate). This is a live-out permanent role under a Spanish contract. A car is provided for work duties.Hours: Mon – Thurs, 8 am – 4.30 pm, Fri 8 am – 2.30 (with 30 min for lunch, which is provided) for 38 hrs/week. For extra hours, time in lieu is given. Very occasionally some work may be required at the weekends.Salary: €3000 gross/month, negotiable and depending on experience plus holidays.To start: A trial is anticipated in December '23
