A maker who knows how to use Rhinoceros and who is familiar with digital fabrication machines.
Who has experience with CNC manufacturing and a passion for woodworking.Tasks include:Helping students and staff to use the machines and equipment for fabricationTechnical support on students & research projectsTeaching assistance in courses focused on Digital FabricationManagement and organization of booking system for students use of laboratory machinesBasic setup, maintenance & upgrade of the laboratory spaces and the laboratory machinesParticipation in the production of applied research projects, Industrial applications, product design and knowledge transferTechnologies area include:CNC Milling & Wood ManufacturingLaser Cutting3D Printing (plastic, resin, clay)Matter Lab (Composites, Bio Materials, Smart Materials & Construction Materials)Electronics Lab (Hardware & Programming)VR & ARDrones & roversRobotic ArmsSkills:Communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)Ability to work closely with students and professionalsTime management and organizational skillsProblem-solving skillsPractical ability, manual dexterityInspiration and innovationAttention to detailLanguage: English (+ Spanish appreciated)Willing to learn, motivated, enthusiastic and socialExpertise:Expertise in Parametric Design, Digital Fabrication, Electronics, Physical Computing and relevant technologies of the lab (Rhinoceros 3D, RhinoCam, Grasshopper 3D, Arduino, Python, Laser Cutter, Milling Machine, 3D printers, Industrial Robots, AR, VR, Drones etc.
