What will your day look like? In partnership with multiple stakeholders, you will focus on:
Provide technical guidance to our analytics product development team about use cases that require power system functions such as power flow, optimal power flow, short circuits, transients, stability, arc flash, harmonics, and grounding.
Write product specifications for design teams and SW teams.
Interact with technical leads to ensure that product-related system design guidelines are being followed.
Use technical knowledge to generate novel approaches to solving customer issues related to power distribution systems' steady-state and dynamic behavior and secure operation.
Contribute to pre-sales activities.
Be a technical/expert reference in discussions with clients and partners, and respond to technical queries related to power system analysis which are an essential part of our analytics offering.
Expectations for Skills & Experience Master degree in electrical or power engineering. Emphasis on distribution and transmission modeling and analysis including state estimation and power flow, short circuit analysis, optimization, economics and/or electric energy markets is preferred.
2 years of experience in electric power engineering, power system modeling, simulations, grid control and operation is a plus.
Experience in power systems analysis/studies using dynamic & EMT simulation (such as PowerFactory, PSS/E) is a plus.
Hands-on software development knowledge - Experience with Python is preferred.
Ability to quickly analyze and implement software requirements for new product features.
Ability to independently understand technical/engineering analysis, develop engineering solutions in a team environment and to provide technical guidance to a product development team.
Passion for working in an open, collaborative and supportive environment where team members welcome opportunities to assist each other with solving challenging technical problems.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to effectively communicate with external customers and internal Landis+Gyr stakeholders).
