The University Hospital Vall d'Hebron is highly specialized in rare diseases on a regional, national and international level with its incorporation as full member of 20 of the 24 European Reference Networks (ERNs).
ERNs are networks involving healthcare providers across Europe, officially launched by the European Commission in 2017, aiming to tackle rare diseases and conditions that require highly specialized treatment and concentrated knowledge and resources.
ERN-EuroBloodNet, www.eurobloodnet.eu, is the ERN dedicated to Rare Hematological Diseases (RHD), currently consists of 97 healthcare-providers from 24 Member States, with the main goal to promote excellence for best healthcare in RHDs by the implementation of actions tackling cross border health, best practices, education, telemedicine and registries, clinical trials and research.
The ERN-EuroBloodNet coordination hub based in Barcelona is led by Dr. Mañú Pereira, head of the Rare Anemia Disorders research lab within the Group of Translational Research in Cancer and Blood disorders in Children. In line with the strategy at European level, the team is leading the overall scientific management of the network with a specific leadership in the area of best practices, European patients' registries and data driven research for RHD.
Position Overview We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented ERN-EuroBloodNet Scientific Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall scientific delivery of the network, tailoring strategies to meet our objectives and overseeing the grant management and reporting ensuring scientific coordination and execution in collaboration with the two hubs of ERN coordination.
Education and Qualifications Required:
University degree in area of science (i.e. Biomedical Sciences, Biology)
Fluent (spoken and written) English
Desired:
Master / PhD in the area of science
Experience and Knowledge Required:
At least 5 years of proven expertise with leading and delivery of scientific actions in the field of biomedicine / health: scientific education, best practices, guidelines, telemedicine, registries and clinical trials / research.
At least 5 years of proven expertise with project management in the field of biomedicine / health: preparation of proposals, management of grants (financial / technical reporting), coordination of teams, project monitoring.
Desired:
Experience with scientific delivery and project management in the field of rare diseases
Experience with the management of EU projects as H2020, CHAFEA, HADEA.
Main Responsibilities and Duties You will coordinate and supervise the overall scientific delivery of the network in close collaboration with the project managers based in the three coordination hubs.
You will coordinate the Grant proposal preparation and technical reporting (Deliverables / Interim / Final reports).
You will monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different actions following the evaluation strategy and key performance indicators.
You will coordinate the production of new clinical practice guidelines with key opinion leaders.
You will represent in the ERNs coordinators group at the EC and Board of Member States.
Labour Conditions Full-time position: 40h / week.
Starting date: immediate.
Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
