As the Business Development External Relations Coordinator you'll play a KEY role in delivering our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.
Business Development External Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of prioritized external partnership support in delivering their strategic priorities. Ensuring seamless delivery of logistics to strengthen AZ's oncology R&D position and reach in the oncology pharmaceutical industry. This role will work closely across the Business Development team and with external C – suite executives.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Support and manage the accountability to deliver on the prioritized external partnership and investor meetings (face-to-face/virtual/hybrid). Manage all aspects of the external partner relationship life cycle. This includes directly managing relationships and vendor responsibilities for priority external meetings, site recommendations, production supplier recommendations, contract negotiations, budgets, catering, creation and ownership of project plan, attendee management, logistics, event agenda and on-site support.
- Liaise in partnership with internal/external C – suite stakeholders, ensuring consistent, appropriate brand presence, efficiency and synergies across all activities.
- Support efficiency in spend, whilst upholding and increasing medical and commercial impact at key external and stakeholder meetings.
- Provide strong project support with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels, both internal and external with the ability to work across time zones (some early morning/late evenings or weekends will be required).
- Be an active member of the Business Development Team to provide benchmarking, best practices and knowledge sharing.

- Prior experience with vendor management
Desired Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Past experience in the Biotechnology, investor or pharmaceutical industry
- Past Experience in global event management or congress planning
- High comfort level with interacting with senior leaders, ability to challenge decisions when appropriate
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience with significant client/investor/board level engagement
- 3+ years' experience in delivering critical meetings in the US and overseas
- Demonstrated success in supporting complex cross-matrix projects
- Demonstrated experience in PO processes and Vendor management
- Logistics experience and knowledge of logistics planning systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications
