TORONTO GRACE HEALTH CENTRE: JOIN OUR TEAM! The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) provides specialized care and services to individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Wound Care, Respiratory Therapy, and Transitional & Remote Care. The care and services provided at TGHC help facilitate patient flow through the health care system and ensure recovery so our patients can return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities. TGHC operates in two sites - the Main site (at Church and Bloor St) for CCC and Palliative inpatients, and the Harbour Light site at Jarvis Street, which houses outpatient beds for patients awaiting full transition back into the community.
We are currently seeking an experienced and influential financial leader to join our Senior Management Team who operates at both the strategic and operational level.
Position Summary:Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as an integral member of the TGHC Executive team and member of the Board of Trustees. The CFO is a leader who is both strategic and hands-on and can develop strategic priorities and ensure operational excellence. This key position is accountable for all financial activities and reporting.
Summary of Responsibilities:Finance & Accounting: Accountable for the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements. Provides insightful and proactive analysis to the CEO, Audit & Finance Committee. Leads the development of the annual operating and capital budgets. Ensures compliance with operating and capital budgets by monitoring actual results, conducting financial projections, and other financial activities as appropriate. Oversees and supports the full range of financial and accounting functions including reporting and analysis, accounting services, budget planning, treasury management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and tax, and reviews various service contracts.Strategic Direction: Contributes to the overall direction of the hospital by providing strategic leadership and functions as a member of the executive team. Responsible for the development of corporate-wide policies, objectives, and strategies related to financial activities and stewardship of corporate assets. Develops and maintains effective relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders, including Ontario Health, funders/donors, financial institutions, and other community and/or healthcare providers.Governance: Accountable for monitoring the financial health of the hospital and donations. Responsible for meeting all regulatory and funding agreement reporting deadlines and managing the annual audit process. Attends Board meetings and provides advice and counsel to various board subcommittees. Creates an environment of teamwork, collaboration, commitment to excellence, and leads by example. Ensure effective and efficient management of the Finance, Payroll, and Purchasing & Materials Management Departments.Qualifications:Professional accountant (i.e., CGA designation) in good standing.Minimum years of experience in a senior leadership role in a health care setting.Experience in the healthcare and/or not-for-profit sector, and/or a registered charity required.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated strategic and operational leadership, with a proven track record.Proven ability to create, develop, and implement creative financial management strategies.Keen, innovative, strategic thinker with strong business acumen.Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.Ability to engage with various stakeholders: Government, Funders, Donors, etc.High Integrity and Emotional Intelligence.A collaborative and engaging leadership style.Excellent attendance record.Please note that Vaccines (COVID- and others) are a requirement for employment at TGHC, unless one receives an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code, in which supporting documentation would be required.
