Who we are
At Catawiki, we come across exceptional objects every day. Catawiki is the leading online marketplace to buy and sell special objects. We offer over 75,000 special objects in auction every week — each reviewed and selected by one of Catawiki's hundreds of in-house experts specialized in Art, Design, Jewellery, Fashion, Classic Cars, Collectables, and many more. We've sold 10 million unique items to date and it's our mission to become the world's most popular auction destination for special objects. We're an innovative, pioneering, and fast-growing scale-up. If you think you can make a difference to our team, go ahead and apply.
About the role
As an Expert in Art, you will be closely involved with evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our users in those sections. Using your expert knowledge in Pop and Street Art, you will be responsible for creating attractive auctions every week. Catawiki strives to keep user transactions as transparent and fair as possible, and your expertise and experience play a large part in maintaining this standard; you know better than anyone what items are of interest to our users. You will review lot titles, descriptions, lot pictures, authenticity, and provide users with an estimated value based on this information. If you need to reject a submission, you do so in a professional and courteous manner. Your efforts result in exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible.
Finally, you'll also be working together with our sales team and proactively review seller segments, assist team members in onboarding high potential leads in core markets - including but not limited to Spain and Portugal in which you will play a major role - and upselling existing sellers in those. The team is dynamic and therefore, you'll need to adapt fast, move fast on decision making with rational data-based facts. You'll communicate efficiently and be a team player within your team and other stakeholders.
