Our goal is to provide a turnkey solution for shipowners and shipping companies who seek to reduce fuel costs and emissions. Our vision is simple yet ambitious – we aim to power the world with wind.Imagine a world where the vast oceans are effortlessly traversed using the clean and boundless power of the wind. At Bound4blue, we are turning this dream into reality. We're not just creating wind propulsion systems but revolutionizing the maritime industry, one sustainable voyage at a time. While the idea of bringing sails back to ships may seem challenging, we are more than prepared for it. We are innovators who understand the perfect harmony between nature and technology.About the rolebound4blue's aerodynamics team is looking for an Experimental Aerodynamics Engineer to grow our capabilities. We are constantly working on the further development and improvement of the eSAIL, a suction sail that uses boundary layer active control to delay stall and generate very high lifting forces (CL > 7).You will be joining the aerodynamics department to jump into tasks related to experimental aerodynamics (wind tunnel test, full-scale ground test, and sea trials), sail operational optimization, etc.ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate tasks related to experimental aerodynamics (wind tunnel, suction characterization…) to validate CFD results.Suggest improvements on the eSAIL design and its suction system, based on the obtained results.Coordinate full-scale ground testing of eSAILs (Factory Acceptance Test - FAT y Site Acceptance Test - SAT) with the control team and validate control algorithm implementation.Support sea trials with data analysis, and performance validation and suggest improvements to maximise fuel savings generated by the eSAIL.Analyze and document test and simulation results; present findings.Develop tools and methods used within the Aerodynamics team.RequirementsMSC or PhD in Aeronautical Engineering or other related discipline with a strong focus on experimental aerodynamics.More than 4 years' experience in similar roles, with a special focus on experimental aerodynamics.Strong background in subsonic aerodynamics.Knowledge about active flow control.Practical experience with experimental validation.Experience processing data with Python or MATLAB.Fluent in Spanish and English.#J-18808-Ljbffr
