Role overview Would you like to work in a skilled React and Laravel team working on modern projects for an international client? We are looking for an experienced React developer to work in an existing scrum team based in Gran Canaria, working with a UK non-profit. If you are passionate about writing quality code and want to work in a friendly collaborative team and be continually learning using the latest technologies this could be the perfect position for you. What will you be doing? You'll be working as a React developer in a scrum team supported by a Project Lead. You'll be working on new web based platforms for a UK educational charity. The sites are built in PHP (Laravel 9) with a React front end & SQL Server database in Azure. You will be working mainly in the front end team but understanding of the back end would be beneficial. Code quality is important to us so you will write tests, participate in pair programming and code reviews with colleagues on a daily basis. You will also participate in the sprint planning, stand ups and all scrum ceremonies.. On a typical day you might find yourself Creating new functionalities and applications Refactoring current applications Writing tests Redefining an API starting with the documentation Collaborating via code reviews to make sure our code meets our quality requirements. At Secret Source you'll work in a friendly environment, in teams where you'll feel comfortable giving your opinion and where teamwork really happens Skills and experience We would really like you to have: Proven and significant experience developing in React and strong knowledge of Javascript (including ES6+ syntax) and Typescript Knowledge of Redux Have in-depth knowledge in HTML & CSS with the latest features in HTML5, CSS3 Knowledge in object oriented programming Understanding REST APIs, DOM model and offline storage Experience with automated tests. Jest Working experience with GIT and Databases Have strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Our team is from Spain and the client is in the UK so it is essential you can communicate well in English And we would be really thrilled if you also have: Experience of the whole web development cycle from coding to QA to deployment Prior experience developing on an Agile team environment Experience working with Figma Experience with E2E tests and Cypress Some experience of Laravel and Azure devops environments would be a bonus but not essential.
