The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes the assigned warehouse and/or logistics activities and processes, ensuring operational management of logistical providers and/or internal employees (e.g., warehouse staff, drivers) in line with specifications, orders, and safety policies. This role aims to ensure safe, efficient, and effective material and equipment storage and flows, optimally supporting the OpCo's production, warehousing, and distribution processes in realizing their objectives.
The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant is a support/execution role in the area of Logistics/Supply chain, focusing on the administrative support and execution of the warehousing function, or on logistics/(outbound) transport, or a combination of both areas. Depending on the size and structure of the logistics/warehousing function, the Warehouse / Logistics Assistant will report to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager, or Transport/Logistics Manager, which will define the focus of the role. In larger operations, the role is likely to be more specialized, while in smaller OpCo's, the Warehouse / Logistics Assistant may need to be an all-rounder, pitching in with all aspects of goods control and distribution, including driving a forklift if necessary.
Job Description: Inventory management & stock control: (Re-)Orders materials and/or equipment where needed, registers these in relevant databases/systems, provides input on supplier performance, and inspects, manages, and maintains materials, tools, and/or equipment in stock to ensure optimal availability for production and delivery. Inbound goods and storing: Coordinates the intake of incoming materials and/or equipment, checks and registers for quantity, damages, and completeness, organizes unloading and storage locations, and ensures storing at the defined location/warehouse. Order handling: Receives and processes orders from (internal and external) customers, selects, checks, packs, and/or distributes the required materials and/or equipment to ensure efficient and timely delivery. Outbound goods and transport planning: Ensures goods and materials are transport-ready, including dispatch/delivery papers and accompanying documents for drivers.Supports routing and scheduling of vehicles based on customer records and requests.Arranges transportation for delivery of goods/materials to internal and external customers. Systems and Administration: Executes the administrative intake and distribution of materials and/or equipment in relevant systems, registration of hours, and other logistics administration to provide relevant reports to stakeholders. Customer satisfaction: Manages customer relationships, ensuring all customer requests are handled appropriately to maintain customer confidence. Continuous improvement: Monitors, measures, benchmarks, and evaluates logistics processes and systems, initiating changes and improvements for optimization. Compliance: Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk, and health regulations. Other duties: May perform a wide range of other warehouse/logistics support and administrative tasks as assigned.
