We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer with extensive knowledge of financial service markets and regulatory frameworks, specifically with the financial supervisory approval processes. To support the start-up process, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the operations and procedures of a successful start-up in banking. You will support start-ups in new markets collaborating with colleagues across over 10 European sites, besides the new local market.
Locations: Berlin, Bergen, Gdansk, Málaga. UK Locations:Londonor other UK cities close to London airports. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the supervisory approval processes in local markets, ensuring timely and successful applications. Develop comprehensive document suites, including applications, business plans, financial forecasts, and frameworks for credit, AML, compliance, and risk. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and manage interactions to ensure smooth approval process. Monitor and report on regulatory developments affecting the business, providing advice to the Group Management Team. Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance programs, including policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience: Extensive familiarity with financial service markets and regulatory bodies, particularly the financial supervisors. Proven experience in managing the regulatory approval process. Strong understanding of compliance requirements in both local and international markets. Academic degree in Legal or a related field giving the necessary qualifications. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally in a compliance role within a startup or growing company. Relevant professional certifications such as ICA, ACAMS, or other recognized qualifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
