Job Description What you'll do
We are looking for an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Director of Culinary, you will:
Coordinate and direct all aspects of the Pastry & Bakery department operation and collaborate with the Food and Beverage team and all necessary stakeholders to achieve marketing and business goals and objectives.Use your Pastry expertise and skill to ensure our Pastry kitchen continues to excel in producing the most creative, innovative and inspirational items.Bring delicious, creative and bespoke flavors and creations to our guests' tables, running a section in our busy Pastry kitchen.Ensure our operation runs smoothly, with orders and deliveries coming and going as needed, maintaining high food hygiene standards.Support our Director of Culinary and Executive chef on ideas and techniques that make our Pastry kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment.Nurture and develop the talent of the Pastry kitchen and wider team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them.Produce all food items required for the assigned kitchens including Banquets, Restaurants, etc.Control the ordering and requisitions to achieve budgeted costs.Work closely with other departments such as Sales & Marketing or Retail Merchandising to conceptualize and implement dynamic marketing programmes to drive marketing / PR activities for the pastry.Qualifications What we are looking for... Previous experience in a fast-moving, quality driven, culinary team, as either an Executive Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef.Passion for Pastry; a desire to continue learning from the best in the business.Ability to positively impact the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Team-oriented, with a willingness to help and get things done.Open to trying new things and adapting.Extensive Pastry technical knowledge and current culinary trends with a high level of creativity, including mastery of chocolate and sugar techniques.Extensive experience in managing and developing a team of chefs.Additional Information What's in it for you...
