Job Description Summary: As Lead Cooling Engineer, you will be designing cooling subsystems of the Haliade-x offshore platform. In this role, you will deliver engineering designs/requirements, execute business-critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world-class subsystem performance of the biggest offshore Wind Turbine to date. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS, Operations, and relevant stakeholders, among others, to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.Essential Responsibilities:Full ownership and accountability for design, development, testing, and certification of the appointed sub-system.Ensure quality of deliverables, on-time delivery, design cost, DFMEA, performance, availability, EHS, product safety, weight, and general targets defined by the business related to the sub-system.Ensure a fully integrated solution for the sub-system by analyzing all mechanical and electrical/control interfaces.Development of new tools and methodologies (from analytic models to CFDs) to achieve product roadmap targets, optimizing the Wind turbine thermal and electrical performance.Assess design risks and establish validation plans for new concepts in thermal design.Ensure proper design reviews and documentation quality according to GE internal instructions and defined project gates.Perform Engineering Excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world-class quality.Develop and manage thermal CFD models for different subsystems for design and cost-out activities.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 8 years proven technology and/or product management experience.Fluent in English (spoken and written).Strong and demonstrated experience in heat transfer and thermal models.Broad knowledge of fluid dynamics.Strong knowledge of basic components characteristics of cooling systems such as heat exchangers, fans, and coolers.Relevant experience in CFD analysis tools.Deep experience in system thermal validation techniques.Knowledge of Standards and Design Codes.Desired Characteristics:Wind industry expertise with proven results developing & implementing technology programs.Wind turbine Machine Head and related component technical and business expertise.Demonstrated system thinking: ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results.Business acumen and customer focus.Demonstrated ability to work horizontally across stakeholders to influence outcomes.Strong interpersonal skills including: ownership, self-motivated, problem-solving, analytical, team player, communication skills, and ability to develop relationships.Additional Information:Relocation Assistance Provided: NoLI-Remote - This is a remote position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
