The Data Privacy Manager EMEA will work collaboratively and transparently with business units and corporate center functions to ensure alignment between compliance goals and business priorities. He/she will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, communicating and auditing Westinghouse's privacy program while promoting compliance with applicable privacy, data and information protection laws. The Manager will lead internal outreach programs and key initiatives regarding Westinghouse's cross border transfer mechanisms, emerging program requirements, and strategic tools for the global privacy program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Use recognized expertise to take ownership of aspects of the global data privacy compliance program to support adherence of employees and vendors to Westinghouse privacy requirements in EMEA.  Ensure global data privacy program supports and aligns with Westinghouse strategy and business objectives. Develop and enhance global policies and procedures of Westinghouse's privacy program, in conjunction with others in the Data Privacy Team, in accordance with local applicable data privacy laws. Develop tools to ensure business processes and data exchanges adhere to agreed global policies and procedures. Critically evaluate EMEA program risks and exposures and where necessary manage other professionals, to implement mitigation strategies Lead key privacy and business initiatives and document privacy risks, providing transparency to internal and external stakeholders. Work strategically with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders within EMEA, and with Data Privacy colleagues globally, to support Westinghouse's privacy goals. Influence others to understand the importance of data privacy requirements. Demonstrate flexibility and strong judgement/decision making skills while intelligently building a course of action, analyzing trade-offs, and making recommendations in sometimes ambiguous situations. Manage, investigate, and document privacy incidents, carry out special investigations and inquiries, as requested. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of equivalent demonstrable working experience required 10+ years of demonstrated experience in Privacy, plus experience in technology policy and/or compliance/risk management roles. Must be seen as an expert in Data Privacy and able to operate beyond own national borders IAPP practitioner certification (CIPP/E) or similar An acknowledged expert in the profession; able to demonstrate strategic thinking and influences leadership business decisions. Good demonstrable working knowledge of privacy principles and concepts, with a strong awareness of differing national privacy regulations. The ability to work on and/or solve multi-dimensional, complex projects or problems. The ability to manage other professionals, potentially externally to develop policy and strategy implementation. Experience in the technology industry and/or a strong aptitude for understanding technologies Self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results The ability to work across teams and to partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds The flexibility to manage and balance workloads that may vary and be unpredictable and processes that may be repetitious.
