The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

EU-LIFEEU-LIFE is an alliance of independent European research institutes in the life sciences. EU-LIFE has two main objectives:
To advocate for scientific research in European science policy interacting with policy makers and stakeholders.To help create optimal environments for research by fostering networks of collaboration and knowledge sharing between our institutes and beyond (in topics of research governance and culture such as careers in science, knowledge transfer, research strategy and funding, EDI, etc.).EU-LIFE is a very lively community consisting of 15 research institutes in the Life Sciences throughout Europe. EU-LIFE has currently 7 working groups and 4 task forces where we bring together experts and practitioners from our member institutes on specific topics to share best practices and develop projects, reports, and trainings for researchers and other staff. The EU-LIFE office is located in Barcelona at the Centre for Genomic Regulation, one of our member institutes.
The RoleThe EU-LIFE Policy Officer will be responsible for developing and executing several activities within the EU-LIFE community with high quality, efficiency, and timely delivery. The main tasks of the EU-LIFE Policy Officer are:
Follow the European Research & Innovation policy agenda and identify relevant developments for EU-LIFE.Contribute to EU-LIFE positions on these topics, support the EU-LIFE Executive Director and EU-LIFE representatives in the policy area.Collect and prepare data to support policy action.Contribute to the writing and/or produce documents for EU-LIFE policy actions.Support interaction with external stakeholders and relevant communities.(Co-)organize EU-LIFE meetings and represent EU-LIFE in external events.Contribute to the development and execution of activities led by the office and/or strategic projects.Team up with the EU-LIFE office team members, assist the EU-LIFE Executive Director in general office tasks, and take over tasks of other EU-LIFE office team members when needed.About the TeamEU-LIFE's working groups and task forces are guided and supported by the EU-LIFE office team. The EU-LIFE office also leads the organization of the European policy action of the alliance, in close collaboration with the EU-LIFE Chairs (rotating position) and the Strategy group; and coordinates the EU-LIFE activities to reach the goals set out in the yearly action plan of the alliance.
We offer the opportunity to work in an international environment, in a small and dynamic team that interacts daily with around 200 members of the working groups/task forces as well as with external collaborators. The EU-LIFE Community Officer will work under the supervision of the EU-LIFE Executive Director as part of the EU-LIFE office team.
