Estimator Engineer.
Solar industry The role of the Estimator is to provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts.
This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members (Development, Engineering and Due Diligence, Construction and Procurement departments) and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver total project cost estimates according to the plans and schedules.
The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project.

Estimator must aggressively follow-up with contractors to ensure that bids are received on time.
Work activities include:
Organize and provide accurate take-offs in a timely mannerAssist when needed for projects take-offAssist in determining labor and material unitsPrepares contractor bid packagesSolicits and maintains communication with contractors and vendorsTransmits addenda and other bid information to contractorsPrepare material vendor and contractor list.
Identify qualified suppliers/contractors and be responsible to solicit quotes.
Review quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specsEnsures that we have the proper coverage from contractors on bid dayShows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from contractorsAssist and coordinate with Construction and Purchasing departmentPrepare quotes and bid documentation packageAttend estimating meetings, construction meetings, due diligence and development, and company meetings as directed and required MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelor's or technical degree in construction science, architecture, engineering or licensed electrician.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - 5 years of experience in related discipline.
Solar industry experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Familiar with roads, foundation and collection system construction
- Substations / interconnections experience is a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS - Cost estimators should be skilled in math and have the ability to foresee potential issues in a project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills.
Knowledge of Office 365
- Interpretation of drawings.
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Teamwork oriented, troubleshooting and human resource skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience with project work and civil and electrical regulations
