Could you be the full-time ERTMS Validation and Verification Designer we're looking for in Madrid to join our ERTMS System team?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your ERTMS expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside young and proactive teammates.
You'll provide support to the ERTMS Team to organize and lead project Verification, Integration and Test activities to ensure the delivery of a complete, correct and accurate Customer Solution in line with Project contractual requirements: documents, hardware, software and data.
Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management), defining and executing for the global project solution, including all system interfaces, all the V-cycle activities related with factory validation (Verification, Integration, Testing) and on-site tests execution and much more.
You'll specifically provide support on analyzing the activities and deliverables on projects, but also achieve the ERTMS activities:
Define and review verification and testing strategy for ERTMS projects in both factory and site. Presentation to key stakeholders and formalization through project Verification and Validation plan.
Ensure the application and adherence to the reference processes/disciplines, methods and tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate.
Organize the Kick-off meetings with Project Design team for input document verification, subsystem and system testing.
Manage the Requirement Validation Table (RVT) during the whole life cycle. Review of technical requirements to ensure phrasing, coherence and testability.
Check that all technical requirements are assigned to one team that will be responsible for covering them. Provide coverage and test results evidences to guarantee a correct implementation.
Co-ordinate and monitor project Verification, Integration and Test activities. Close relation with Safety team to demonstrate system is ready for revenue service.
Organize and lead verification and validation documents reviews.
Detect improvement opportunities mainly through analysis of defects not detected in laboratory and recurrent bugs identified during laboratory testing.
Lead REX preparation and share with relevant stakeholders after.
Participate in internal and external quality and certification audits.
ERTMS technical competence development. Act as mentor for new V&V team members.
Collaborate in tender phase, providing verification and validation technical documentation and testing effort estimations.
Support or lead when necessary key testing activities: test environment deployment and configuration, test specifications definition, test execution and reporting.

Engineer degree (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics preferable).
Minimum 3 years working with ERTMS systems preferably in validation or design teams.
Experience in National and International ERTMS projects.
Successful experience in working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment.
Deep knowledge of Railway signalling principles and ERTMS Trackside and Onboard system architectures.
Competent with ERTMS specifications (subset 026; subset 037; subset 039; subset 040) and functional requirements defined in applicable baselines.
Demonstrable experience working on ERTMS L2 (project design/validation; product functional validation).
Competent with track and onboard ERTMS interfaces (IXL, LEU, TCMS, STMs, ATO, etc.) and experience with train-track integration activities.
Competences in log analysis from onboard and trackside equipment.
Comfortable in laboratory environment (HW manipulation and use of SW simulators, decoding and analysis tools).
Knowledge of Design, Integration and validation processes and methodologies (V-Model, Design for Quality, CENELEC 50126).
Experience on requirement management methodology and change management tools (IBM Rational DOORS and Clear Quest).
Spanish: fluent level both written and spoken is essential to fulfil this position's demands.
