.Environmental Health & Safety Manager : PPG Industries: ValenciaAs an Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will report to the Environmental Health & Safety Country Manager.
You will lead the EHS for Valencia, ensuring that the people and location(s) are legally compliant and satisfy PPG Environmental, Health Safety procedures, standards, and processes.
This position is site-based and will require some level of flexibility to travel to different locations within the country.Key Responsibilities Ensure that EHS legal requirements for the location are always communicated and work with the local Leadership Team to address the requirements in the most effective way.Implement EHS strategy within the location by developing and aligning local plans, in agreement with local Leadership Team and Corporate & Regional guidelines; provide proactive feedback to Country Manager to ensure strategy sustainability and robustness in the long term.Ensure that risk assessments are performed for each business, task, and discipline (at work Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Ergonomics), updated as needed on time and in full, and propose & support, as appropriate, risk reduction initiatives.Ensure accidents are reported and investigation analysis conducted timely and prepare or supervise preparation of reports and recommend corrective actions.Develop a reporting culture for near misses and safety observations/audits within the organization to identify and control significant loss-producing exposure.Identify appropriate EHS training needs and ensure effective rollout in partnership with the business.Coordinate health programs.Implement annual EHS goals as agreed with the EMEA Manager and aligned to Global, EMEA, and site-specific needs.Ensure regular communication and engagement with the Net of EHS contacts and local Leadership Team, participate in local decision-making and support local needs in agreement with Location Manager and EHS Country Manager.Define and maintain core EHS resourcing needs for the location and request support from the EHS Country Manager according to business needs and partners.Identify needs, propose, and get approval for EHS local budget, and manage it accordingly in full understanding of Site Leadership Team and Country guidelines.Qualifications Bachelor's or advanced degree in Environment field, chemistry, engineering, or related science with relevant experience.In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations.Working knowledge of key metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable.Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar role.Proficient in English.About us: PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLDThe PPG WayEvery single day at PPG: We partner with customers to create mutual value.
