Position DescriptionWe are currently looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Senior Specialist to join our Operations Department onsite in QIAGEN Barcelona.
Your main responsibilities would include: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS standards.Provide training to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess workplace hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks, including those related to biosafety in biological research or laboratory settings.Stay informed of changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize occupational health risks.Participate in EHS committees and meetings to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.Position RequirementsMaster in Occupational Safety and Health: Prevention of Occupational Hazards.Minimum of 1 year working in the Pharmaceutical and or Biotechnological Industry.Experience in EHS is required (3-5 years).Experience in PCR and biosafety is desired.Fluent in English and Spanish is required.
