General DescriptionThe open position is within the Environment and Human Rights Corporate Department, which is one of the 4 areas reporting into Telefonica's Chief Sustainability Officer.
The mission of the Environment and Human Rights department is to design, develop and implement strategies and actions to act upon opportunities and to mitigate risks in relation to a wide range of sustainability topics, ranging from environment and climate change over sustainable supply chain management to human rights.
Main functions:
Participate in a variety of projects related to environment and circular economy new regulation:Implement specific projects to fill the gaps of new regulation on environmental issues (circularity, environmental due diligence, water, biodiversity).Define general process and accompany the internal transformation projects, both at local and global level, in collaboration with other different teams and companies of the Telefonica Group (i.e. biodiversity).Support water footprint calculation, planning and monitoring of water reduction initiatives and definition of water-related risks.Environmental due diligence of the value chain.Environmental information reporting and assurance (CSRD):Participation in Telefónica's annual corporate report of non-financial information, following CSRD requirements.Internal control of non-financial information. Support in auditing process.KPI definition, monitoring, assurance.Implement specific projects to fill the gaps of new regulation.Carbon footprint management and reduction initiatives (scope 3):In collaboration with other teams, boost and track initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint (renewables; efficiency, circular economy).Collaboration in the implementation of the carbon pricing within the company.Support to calculate Scope 3 emissions in all the locations of Telefónica Group.Circular economy:Support the implementation of the circular economy strategy (circularity criteria in procurement, eco-design of new devices for customers).Track the circularity metrics and indicators (reuse, refurbishment, recycling).Work with customers to encourage return/buyback of used mobile devices.Participation in sectorial initiatives, taskforce, and experts working groups related to environment (environmental management, circular economy, water, biodiversity).QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related, also considered Science/Engineering with a postgraduate in environment and climate change.Specific training related to environmental management will be considered.Experience3-5 years of work experience in environmental topics, either in a company or consultancy.Experience related to the implementation of environmental management systems (ISO 14.001, 50.001) and KPIs reporting valuable.LanguagesHigh-level fluency in English and Spanish is required.Other languages valued, especially Portuguese and German.SkillsVocation, passion, and interest in sustainability trends and challenges.Analytical skills including the ability to identify gaps and opportunities.Teamwork.Experience participating in projects in an international organizational environment.Ability to produce deliverables: reports, presentations, Q&As, papers.Good communication and writing skills.If you join us, we offer you...Work in a dynamic team and be part of challenging projects that will allow you to play a leading role in the transformation of the company.An interesting package of social benefits (luncheon vouchers, health, life and accident insurance, pension plan, flexible compensation plan).A flexible working environment with hybrid models of face-to-face and telecommuting.Access to a wide range of continuous learning opportunities for you to grow with us.Participate in volunteering programmes, social actions, international mobility, off-site.
