Engineering Technician (Mechanical Guns) This position is not currently funded and is contingent upon funding to Amentum. At this time, Amentum is seeking candidates to fulfill contingent roles. The expected award timeframe is Fall 2025. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Guns Technician to support U.S. Navy operations in Rota, Spain. This role focuses on the overhaul, maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of shipboard gun weapon systems, including the MK 45 and MK 38 series. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on technical experience and a proven track record of leading maintenance and repair efforts. Responsibilities: Perform hands-on overhaul, maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of U.S. Navy shipboard gun weapon systems. Lead maintenance, testing, and repair tasks, ensuring all work adheres to Navy standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with gun weapon systems to maintain operational readiness. Collaborate with technicians and engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects. Minimum Requirements: Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of four (4) years of full-time hands-on technical experience in the overhaul, maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of U.S. Navy shipboard gun weapon systems. At least two (2) years of full-time technician experience leading maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of U.S. Navy shipboard gun weapon systems. Comprehensive knowledge of MK 45 Mod 2 & 4 and MK 38 Mod 2 & 3 systems. Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
