Engineering Project Manager, Global Central Reliability Team (GCRT) [M-711] - Barcelona At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To this end, we are seeking an Early Life Cycle (ELM) Project Manager to join our Global Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. This role demands deep expertise in project management, strong technical proficiency, and the capacity to coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality results. Successful candidates will have Engineering Program and Project Management experience combined with a strong technical problem-solving ability. The candidate will prepare and deliver the Reliability and Maintenance (RME) launch plan for new sites as well as new equipment installations in legacy sites, subsequently supporting the RME field team in the execution of launch activities. Constantly aiming for safety, better equipment uptime, efficiency, cost management, quality, customer satisfaction, and ultimately profitability within Amazon. This role involves a travel requirement of up to 30%.
Key Job Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for new launches as well as new equipment installations in legacy sites, including requirements gathering, planning, risk mitigation, and successful deployment.
End-to-end ownership for large-scale engineering projects (planning, design, installation, commissioning and qualification, launch support).
Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams.
Collaborate closely with Field Engineering, RME, Design & Construction, and operations teams to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones, and ensure effective communication and coordination across all stakeholders.
Develop Business Continuity and Risk Mitigation plans with site RME teams to allow a seamless handover from Construction or Field Engineering.
Support the expansion and execution of the RME qualification process, including vendor management and feedback.
Drive and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives working in close partnership with Design, Engineering, RME, Procurement and Safety partners.
About the Team The ELM team oversees the transfer of assets (MHE, Base Build, Emerging Tech) to the RME teams, working closely with Project Delivery Teams (e.g., GES, TES, MSP, AR) across Customer Fulfillment (CF), Amazon Transportation Systems (ATS), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), and Amazon Grocery Logistics (AGL).
